Another Geoff-led showcase packed with updates on long-awaited titles
The event had it all — announcements, trailers, release dates, and a few surprises… though some landed better than others.
Kicking things off with one of the biggest reveals: Lies of P: Overture, the DLC for the Pinocchio-inspired soulslike, dropped as a shadow release during the event. It’s already out, featuring new bosses, areas, and that same brutal, grim atmosphere fans can’t get enough of.
Chrono Odyssey made a return with a fresh trailer, showing off more of the game — more combat, more environments — and it all looks incredibly polished. Luckily, we won’t have to wait too long to try it: the MMO beta runs from June 20 to 22.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword made an appearance with a new gameplay trailer. Capcom is clearly going all-in to bring the legendary franchise back — and from the looks of it, they might just pull it off.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers finally got a release date: July 24, 2025. The game, heavily inspired by feudal China, promises fast-paced soulslike combat. It’s coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S — and it’s hitting Game Pass on day one.
We also got a visit from Hideo Kojima — Geoff Keighley’s new bestie — who dropped a fresh Death Stranding 2 trailer. This one focused on two new characters: Neil (played by Luca Marinelli) and Lucy (played by Alissa Jung). There are still a ton of unanswered questions, but we won’t be in the dark much longer — June 26 is the date to mark.
Then came one of the heavyweights: none other than SEGA’s Takashi Iizuka, who gave us a deeper look into Sonic Racing: Crossworlds. In what felt like a playful jab at “a certain other famous racing game” — yeah, we all know it’s Mario Kart — he confirmed the game will have full online crossplay. Honestly, that should be the norm by 2025. At the end of his segment, it felt like something big was coming — with all the buzz and rumors, many of us expected a Sonic Adventure or Sonic Heroes remake. Instead, we got Steve and a Minecraft track in the game. For a lot of people — myself included — that was a letdown.
ILL, the grotesque horror game that had already caught a lot of eyes, returned with a new gameplay showcase. The visuals are absurdly detailed and disgustingly beautiful (and I mean that in the best way). For horror fans like me, this one is shaping up to be a must-play.
We also got a few surprises — and a long-awaited sequel finally showed up
Atomic Heart II was revealed for the first time, and from the trailer, it looks like the game has embraced a more comedic tone or direction. Visually, it’s completely over the top. Now we just have to see if the gameplay can keep up and build on what the first game did well.
Mortal Shell 2 showed off a stunning visual upgrade — clearly a step up from the original — with a darker, more intense vibe. Not to mention the excellent music choice for the trailer.
LEGO also unveiled a new co-op game. LEGO Voyagers caught people’s attention with its promise of fun and engaging gameplay.
Six years later, Code Vein II has finally been announced — a sequel to the anime-style vampire soulslike. It keeps the same aesthetic, but it’s missing that bloody, vampiric edge. At least in the trailer.
For fans of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio — the team behind Yakuza and Judgment — Stranger Than Heaven was announced, previously known only as Project Century. From what we’ve seen, you play as a detective in 1940s Japan. Mystery and brawling with a lot of potential.
And for those of like nostalgia, Scott Pilgrim EX is back to bring joy to fans of the series.
The big finale went to Resident Evil: Requiem, the ninth main entry in the series, with a chilling trailer that once again showed Raccoon City and the destroyed RPD. The game’s still got that amazing horror vibe, and apparently, we’ll be playing as Grace Ashcroft — daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft, the journalist you could play as in Resident Evil Outbreak. But there’s still not much known about her just yet.
The release date? February 27, 2026. I’m dying to play it.
